Technology-lead specialist travel company are seeking a positive and personable Java Development Manager to lead a development team and execute e-commerce strategy in the Kingston-upon-Thames area.

Working closely with the Director of Systems and skilled Technical Architect, the Software Development Manager will manage a team of circa ten Java Developers and a small team of MI Developers, and be involved in building and executing development strategy as well as meeting goals and objectives of large scale e-commerce development projects. Moreover, maintaining a professional culture where developers are proud of delivering excellence.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will be the following:

- Working with senior stakeholders to create and deliver e-commerce vision and strategy, delegating technical responsibilities to the technical leads and developers.
- Line management which includes coaching, recruitment, appraisals, 1-2-1 meetings, identifying training needs, motivating and performance managing the team
- Capacity planning to cover pipeline of work, consisting of projects (working closely with the PMO) and services the technology department provides, whilst enabling the improvement of processes and reducing risks such as single point of failure or unforeseen workload
- Supplier relationship management with various resource partners to ensure flexible resourcing model strategy. Also responsible for managerial tasks such as POs, Invoices, feedback, resource planning, machines, etc.
- Strong business relationship management to ensure expectations are met. This includes frequent communication with key stakeholders and escalations dealt with in a timely manner
- Incident and problem management responsibilities to ensure live issues are resolved as quickly as possible minimizing business impact and to avoid same problems reoccurring
- Work closely with technical leads with technology and methodology decision making, including standardisation of system architecture, reusable code base development, versions of software tools, best practices, source control and deployment processes
- On a personal level, the Software Development Manager will be able to draw on their experience within management roles, utilising a management style that is supportive, understanding and motivating.
- On a technical level, though you will come from a strong background in Java development, this is not a hands on development position. As such, though Java knowledge is a prerequisite, each of the following areas of the Java development stack are only desirable.

Java, SQL and J2EE skill set

? Ensure that the home is run in accordance with good Health & Safety practice and legal requirements.
? Ensure that maintenance and equipment renewal needs are communicated to the relevant person, obtaining costing/quotes where appropriate, and then ordering items/services once authorised.
? Undertake any other managerial tasks as required, in accordance with the seniority and level of responsibility inherent in this position.

Requirements:

? To have significant management/supervisory experience in a relevant care setting within the past 5-years.
? Possess an appropriate qualification at NVQ 4 level, or have the capacity to undertake this once in post, or hold another alternative professional qualification and be prepared to undertake the Registered Home Manager NVQ 4 qualification
? Recent experience working with service users who have learning disabilities is essential
? Relevant learning disabilities related qualification is preferred
? Ability to participate in setting standards and auditing
? A minimum of 2 years? experience at a Senior Area/ Regional Area level. If under 2 years? experience this may be compensated by a Supporting Qualification
? Ability to work flexible hours e.g. weekends/bank holidays
? Full UK Driving Licence

Our client is seek a Home Manager who has experience of working in a residential setting at a managerial level, being able to display strong knowledge of working within a Care Home setting alongside thorough knowledge and understanding of current care regulations (CQC). To be successful within this post the right applicant must display effective leadership, motivation and communication skills to help develop the team and the service.

The successful candidate will hold a professional mental health qualification, preferably RMN or Diploma Level 5 in Care and have previous experience as a Residential Home Manager/ Care Manager, together with full knowledge of the roles and responsibilities required to manage a Residential Care Home.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years working with people with mental health issues and associated challenging behaviours, and a minimum of 18 months in a senior capacity with responsibility for the supervision of staff.
