My client is a long standing school that enjoys first class facilities and strong community links.

A new position of Finance Manager has been added to the senior support team. Chiefly the role is concerned with the day to day management of the school finances, ensuring that all income and expenditure is accurately accounted for, alongside production of monthly management accounts and all associated reporting.  You’ll help set and manage annual budgets and forecasts, partnering with various budget holders throughout the year as required. You’ll ensure that financial resources are best used, supporting the senior leadership team with advice on commercial decisions, including budget management implications and various on going school improvement projects. There’s the opportunity to reassess the processes and procedures in the department, working with the small support team to ensure that clarity of reporting and accuracy of the accounts is maintained.  You’ll ensure that

all the schools statutory financial obligations are met, including submissions to various external and legal bodies.

Applications are sought from fully qualified accountants, who’ll enjoy a hands on role, yet revel in the close working relationships with the senior leadership team and board of governors.  This is a permanent role, offered on a 3 or 4 day a week basis. Sector experience is not deemed essential, with strong financial management and controls experience more relevant.
