An opportunity has arisen for Support Workers to join a new small care team to look after a happy, friendly 8 year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy, developmental delay and controlled epilepsy.
He is orally fed but requires support with eating, as well as personal care and is able to walk independently at home but uses a wheelchair for longer distances.
Using Makaton and Picture Exchange Communication Systems, he needs kind, fun and sensitive support workers to join his new care team and provide 1:1 support within the family home.
Part of the role includes supporting him to interact and play with his older sibling, as well as implementing therapy programmes and supporting him to access the community with his family.
Other duties will include tending to laundry and domestic tasks.
Monday to Friday £13.00 per hour
Saturday & Sunday £15.00 per hour
Bank holidays £19.50 per hour
Support Worker shifts available:
Monday to Friday 15.45pm – 21.00pm
Saturday & Sunday 09.00am – 21.00pm
Monday to Friday 09.00am – 21.00pm
Saturday & Sunday 09:00am – 21:00pm
With additional hours being available to cover holiday and sickness throughout the year.
Experience & Qualities required for the role:
A Support Worker who has experience of working with children with physical and learning disabilities.
Excellent communication skills.
The understanding of working with a family and ensuring interaction with siblings.
Commitment to assisting the client in engaging in leisure activities and hobbies.
Understanding of the need for close observation at all times monitoring health and well-being.
