We are looking for a candidate who already has previous experience of working for an accident repair centre with engineering experience. We are offering you the opportunity to work as part of our group management team overseeing all aspects of the Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) services offered within the group.

The role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Group Support Services, you will work with site managers and VDA staff to identify areas for performance improvement and deliver appropriate training as required. Referring to agreed KPIs, you will guide our VDA teams on how to build accurate repair methods to ensure profitable and efficient vehicle repairs and outstanding customer service. This role is both office and field based.

Responsibilities will be varied, for example tasks will include;

- Manage and control services delivered by Central VDA teams

- Deliver VDA training in line with VDA ‘best practice’ guides, reference materials

- Guide management teams to adopt and implement VDA best practice

- Identify VDA training needs, coordinate training (internal/external) as agreed with line managers

- Work with Operational Managers to ensure standards are not compromised in the strive to increase revenue / profit

- Oversee site VDA compliance audits raising issues / concerns with managers (and SMT)

- Monitor VDA specific KPI’s and provide guidance to operational teams on how to optimise performance

- Identify and work with operational teams on repair methods that drive reduced cycle time and/or improve standards

- Keep abreast of technological changes making recommendations on process improvements, where appropriate

- Maintain direct control over estimating tools (e.g. Audatex profiles / logins, cameras etc.)

- Work with SMT to evaluate alternative software applications, as directed/agreed

- Hold quarterly VDA performance meetings to identify opportunities and drive best practice

- Key performance areas: Driving common estimating standards | Increasing labour sales | driving GP margin

The person

- At least 7 years VDA/engineering experience, with an understanding of industry KPIs

- Hands on approach to work with a technical awareness

- Ability to coach, train and develop VDA personnel

- Excellent numeracy skills

- IAEA Qualified (preferred)

- Good presentation skills

- Willingness to travel regularly to various business locations

- Candidates will be required to demonstrate appropriate experience and qualification for the role

What we are offering

We’re offering a basic pay of up to £45,000 with OTE circa £54k, plus a company car. We also offer a pension, 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays (rising with service), life assurance, employee assistance programme, IMI (ATA) accreditation support and access to top quality training. Normal working hours will be 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (and occasional Saturdays)
