The purpose of this role will be:
• Acting as the competent person within the CAG in all non- clinical safety related issues, ensuring that the CAG meets its statutory and common law obligations.
• Responsible for the provision of proactive specialist support, advice, guidance and CAG specific H&S training in order to achieve high standards of health & safety risk management to the Clinical Academic Groups.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Qualifications and knowledge:
• Health & Safety qualification – degree, diploma e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. (A)
Membership of a professional body
• Good general academic qualifications

Experience:
• Several years’ experience within a health & safety related field, preferably NHS
• Thorough working knowledge of H&S risk management in relation to NHS environments
• Day to day management of health & safety issues preferably in a health care environment
Ability to interpret health and safety legislation and identify the implications for the organisation

Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring that complex/technical aspects of health and safety can be communicated in a style that all colleagues can comprehend and implement
• Ability to establish credible and good working relationships with staff within the Trust, Borough Teams and individuals representing external and partner agencies
• The ability to effectively prioritise and manage a complex workload across a wide geographical area
• The ability to maintain high levels of concentration when analysing data, producing investigation reports and/or policies

Package

General Description of the role:
• To develop, coordinate and strategically manage the Wide area and local networks across the client’s premises. To make best use of network and telephony infrastructure resources to provide cost effective good service to customers. To make effective relationships with suppliers.
• To be responsible for developing and implementing ITIL based processes for managing the networks and telephony. This includes availability of services, capacity management, upgrades and the implementation of new services.
• To take an active role in the migration to a cloud based delivery model.

Main Accountabilities of the Role:
1. Support the implementation of cloud based delivery of IT services for the client. Ensure the overall network solution is fit for purpose.
2. Develop and implement ITIL based processes for the management of the network and telephony environment to compliment the overall service management processes.
3. Ensure the effective operation of the network telephony environment as responsibility passes from the current provider. Ensuring services are managed and available. This includes networks, network infrastructure and telephony solutions.
4. Manage technical resources to deliver effective operational service, change requests and project work.
5. Ensure the data is secured from a network perspective and that viable business continuity plans are in place for the network and telephony environment.
6. Support skill sharing and a flexible support delivery model across teams within IMT. This includes both giving and receiving of skill sharing.
7. Take a strategic view of the overall network and telephony architecture. Provide technical proposals and recommendations.
8. Apply technical skillset to assist the delivery of the IMT Service

Qualifications:
• Educated to a higher level (e.g. degree, HND), or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and aptitude
• Management Qualification

Technical Skills:
• Networking protocols and practices
• Installation and configuration of network equipment
• Implementation and support of cloud based services
• Configuration and support of PABX and call centre systems (preferably Mitel and Netcall)

Knowledge:
• A good understanding of ICT service principles and practices, based on ITIL
• A good overall understanding of all ICT technical and core software components.

Experience:
• Demonstrate high levels of communications skills, being able to explain complex situations to people without high levels of technology skills
• Demonstrate the ability to manage complex ICT incidents.
• Demonstrate experience of successfully managing a complex network and telephony environment.
• Demonstrate experience of successfully managing people and possesses a customer focus in all interactions
