You will need to demonstrate your experience on the following requirements:

Strong capability to develop and build strong relationships internally and externally
Be of degree caliber and ideally CIM qualified
Experience of working in a professional services environment is essential (legal a distinct advantage)

What will your working week be like?

• Bank reconciliation of all client bank accounts
• Correcting allocations to fee earners bills
• Posting the firm’s bills to the ledger
• Reconciling bills
• Work with fee earners to achieve the cash-collection targets set from time to time
• Ensure that appropriate telephone contact is made at the earliest possible stage on overdue debts, in accordance with the Financial Management and Accounts Manual
• Answer queries and enquiries from clients/internal staff
• Ensure that payments are correctly allocated, to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice(s)
• Check reminder letters for 100% accuracy before sending
• Accounts (deposit Interest) Rules Compliance
• Filing and shredding/archiving documents produced by the department
• Dealing with Credit Card Payments from Clients
• Analysis of financial information as required
• Resolving SAR audit Queries
• Dealing with the firm’s internet banking system for all banks including Client Monies
• Checking completion statements and reporting back to the Fee Earner
• Smart ID Checks
• Drawing and distributing client and office account cheques
• Maintaining the Counsel and expert fees ledger and paying when due
• Collecting Petty cash from the Bank
• Posting Monies received from clients for bills and disbursements
• Running system month end reports and other reports as required
• Correcting fee earners time transactions


Who will suit this role?

• Educated to a minimum GCSE standard with a C in Maths and English
• 3-4 years Legal experience in a similar role
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to interpret financial information
• Able to work to time constraints specifically month/year end
• A good standard of written and spoken English
• Drive, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Good knowledge of Word and Excel
