Sales Executive
My client is the leading open access publisher in scientific, technical and medical publishing market. Due to the popularity of their services,they are seeking a bi-lingual, self-motivated individual whose strength is to establish, develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential customers. It is a busy role for which you will have the ability to conduct yourself in a highly professional manner over the phone in order to generate interest and to develop sales opportunities as well as being committed to the provision of excellent service.
Job Description
Selling institutional subscriptions and membership to librarians in academia and corporate markets. You will be responsible for managing new business in your allocated territory, including creating and managing a database of prospective and existing customers, running and managing telesales, managing the transition of leads through the pitch process, tracking industry issues that are relevant to customers, managing the sales pipeline and setting and reporting on new business targets to the Sales Manager.
Job Role / Responsibilities
• Representing my client to the worldwide library community
• Contacting librarians by telephone and email to set up free institutional trials for the range of online products
• Building relationships with librarians in academia and in pharmaceutical companies throughout the world
• Selling institutional subscription, product site licences and memberships to institutions
• Coordinating regional sales activity and consortia sales activities
• After sales care to institutional customers
• Reporting on sales activities and sales made
• Reaching monthly sales targets
• Attending conferences
Experience/Qualifications required
Degree or equivalent level of education. Additional language/s required (FLUENT German and French mandatory, other languages an advantage). Sales experience preferable, knowledge of the STM market a strong advantage.
Personal specification / skills required:
• Computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office packages including excel, PowerPoint, outlook and word
• Excellent organisational skills are required with ability to prioritise, and work under pressure
• Attention to detail
• A good team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks
• Numerate
• Excellent verbal communication skills with good telephone manner and face to face presentation skills
Salary: £18K – 20K basic depending on experience + commissions.
£42K OTE, uncapped
