A Bid Tendering Manager is required for my client, an Environmental Waste Management Company. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a large and professional organisation who have been established for over 70 years and have around 300 employees.
The Role
The Bid Manager will lead the Tendering and Bid Response process. Management of individual bids covering all solution offerings within the business. Focus on full tender/bid opportunity range with specific focus on £500K + national opportunities.
The Desired Person
Ensure, through a full understanding and appreciation of the service portfolio, that
appropriate service and coordination, within a complete and competitive solution, are proposed to meet and exceed the customer requirements. Leading the bid process through all stages from qualification through to the implementation plan, whilst developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with customers and adhering to best practice throughout the bid cycle.
Overview of the role
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Management of bid and tender submissions
Development of customer relationships.
Plan and manage post bid submission activity.
Continued activity and responsibility to raise the standard and quality of bids to increase bid win ratio.
Give support and assistance to other bid team and members as required, to ensure bid management provides an effective and value adding function throughout the business.
To validate financial, commercial, H&S and HR risks.
Role skills
Experienced Bid Manager, 4-5 years+ Bid management experience leading complex bids within waste/service related solutions.
Strong business orientation, analysis/problem solving, negotiation, resilience and
collaboration skills
Experienced at working with Senior Management to General Manager level.
Used to bringing multi-site teams together, ideally across the UK.
Strong Project Management skills – Prince II or other formal methodology accredited
Educated to degree level
Personal skills
Able to present the bid/tender submission and key winning themes to the Managing Director of business.
Displays a bias for decisiveness by meeting the most aggressive timescales for delivering high quality proposals.
Makes active attempts to influence events to achieve goals: self starting rather than acting passively.
Able to coordinate a team with different backgrounds and to define common priorities
and objectives.
Showing concerns for all aspects of the job, no matter how small. Checking processes and tasks accurately.
Able to be accountable for tasks and objectives assigned for.
A natural relationship builder able to adapt a flexible approach to customer encounters.
Highly tuned analytical skills, combining financial astuteness with common sense.
